From surviving to creating opportunity.
The work I do today is deeply personal because I know what it's like to wonder whether opportunity will ever find you.

Where It All Began
I grew up in public housing as one of five children raised by a single mother. There were seasons when the lights were off, the water wasn't running, and we depended on the generosity of others to get by. Poverty wasn't something I learned about — it was something I lived.
But even during the hardest seasons, school became my place of hope. Teachers, mentors, and educational programs believed in me before I fully believed in myself. They challenged me, encouraged me, and helped me see possibilities beyond my circumstances. Every opportunity someone placed in front of me, I learned to say yes — and those moments changed the trajectory of my life.
"Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not."
As the first person in my family to graduate from college, I discovered that education is about far more than earning a degree. It has the power to change the course of a family, a community, and future generations. That realization shaped the work I've dedicated my life to.
Creating Opportunity Through Education
For more than 18 years, I've dedicated my career to helping students, colleges, universities, and nonprofits create opportunity through education. I've led federally funded TRIO programs, secured more than $9 million in federal education funding, developed student success initiatives, and partnered with institutions to expand access for first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities.
While grant writing, compliance, and strategic planning are important parts of my work, I've never forgotten what they're really about: people. Behind every proposal is a student whose future could change because someone invested in opportunity.
Every grant represents students.
Every program creates opportunity.
Every dollar changes lives.
Today, I'm a higher education leader, grant strategist, wife, and mother of three. Every role reminds me that lasting change happens when knowledge is paired with compassion and people are given the opportunity to succeed. That belief shapes every partnership, every project, and every student I have the privilege to serve.
My mission is simple: remove barriers, create opportunity, and help people accomplish what once felt out of reach.

Why I Founded Borrowed Dreams
Throughout my career, I've celebrated students receiving acceptance letters, scholarships, and college degrees. I've also watched far too many begin adulthood carrying overwhelming student loan debt.
I believe education should create opportunity, not lifelong financial burden. That belief inspired me to establish Borrowed Dreams Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping students reduce the financial barriers to higher education while connecting generous donors with opportunities to create lasting impact.
No student's dream should be limited by the cost of pursuing it.
Let's Create Opportunity Together
Whether you're a college or university seeking grant expertise, a nonprofit looking to expand its impact, or someone who shares a passion for educational opportunity, I'd love to connect. Together, we can create pathways that change lives.
